At Dress for Success Kingston, we provide support, guidance, and mentorship to women in need in the Kingston and area community. We are part of a global movement for change and empowerment of women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Our number one focus is to assist women in choosing and styling themselves for interviews and employment at no cost. Our goal is to help all women feel confident to succeed and achieve their dreams of financial independence. When clients come to our boutique for a personal one-to-one suiting appointment, they have time to discuss clothing to fit their body type. Clients also have ample time to try on clothing and match outfits to find 2 or 3 perfect outfits for what they need. Upon leaving after their appointment, clients have had trouble remembering, reproducing, or interchanging each piece to create the outfits they developed with our suiting stylists. Once they are home, we would like to provide them with photos of each outfit they are taking home to remember how to put the clothing together so that that confidence continues after the appointment.
Having the polaroid camera would allow clients to feel more comfortable that their photos will not be shared or saved. They would also have the ability to take the pictures home at the end of their appointment for their own personal reference for matching and styling their outfits. Finally, not all women have access to a working cell phone with a camera, and this would remove the barrier of technology some face.
