In Texas, 1 out of every 4 kids doesn't have food to eat when away from their school campus. A $1000 grant from the Austin Awesome Foundation will allow the Awesome Tummies of North Austin project will provide weekend meal kits to 200 students in North Austin (Parmer-Metric-Braker Lane area) that need weekend nutrition.

Many of these kids are displaced and 'in-transition'. This meal kits will ensure that, no matter where they may have to stay for the weekend — a friend's house, extended stay hotel, or even their car – they'll have on-the-go nutrition to bridge the gap until they return to their school campus for breakfast on Monday morning.
