July’s Awesome Ottawa award goes to Fadhili Samba to support the Princess Party Project – an effort to make free “royal” visits for kids’ birthday parties.

“Children should be able to celebrate their magical day regardless of their parents’ or guardians’ financial situations,” explains Fadhili. “I created this project so that parents can have a local alternative. And what’s more magical than a royal visit?”

“It started out as a New Year’s resolution to make my own Frog Princess dress and host free birthday parties," she continues. "I was looking for a way to combine all my skills and experiences in a way that could be of service to the community.”

With support from Awesome Ottawa, Fadhili plans to add two new princesses to the lineup and pay for travel to and from party locations.
