Love Grows
I run a program called Sea Circles, a surf therapy program for girls and women who are interested in experiencing healing, belonging, and empowerment through time spent in and around the ocean. Sea Circles is a 4-6 week program that meets at the beach and provides a safe and healing environment to explore the relationship with yourself, the ocean, and each other.
We offer tools and tips for healthy mental health practices as well as instructional surf lessons. Through the art of wave riding and playing in the ocean, our goal is connection to nature and our bodies. We also cover ocean water safety, ocean conservation, surf etiquette, mindfulness practices for mental health, and of course have a ton of fun!
Last summer was our first summer running Sea Circles, we held 4 sessions, with 10 participants ages 12-15. It was an absolute joy to see the positive changes in each participant.
Sea Circles is an official provider of Groundswell Community Project, a research-based surf therapy organization rooted in trauma-informed, somatic, community-based, eco-therapy practices to create a safe and brave space for deeper self-love, sea love, and sisterhood. As a provider, we are contributing to the global research and development of Surf Therapy as a practice.
