Sprout Up is on a mission to create community aeroponic gardens in South Dade County to teach residents of underserved communities this new gardening technology.

Sprout Up Gardens' are aeroponic gardens, vertical gardens that use 2% of the water required for traditional gardening and 90% less space yet produce more nutrient-dense produce, as alternatives to traditional gardening methods.

In addition to teaching participants about aeroponic gardening, Sprout Up will offer nutrition, meal planning, and cooking education. Classes will be open to those who are interested in learning more about healthy eating and how to take the foods that are grown in the garden to prepare healthy meals.

The goal of the outreach and education efforts is to empower participants to make healthy food choices, maximize the impact of the food assistance they receive, and reduce chronic health conditions that are often found in food deserts which plaque South Dade County.
