Revamping REpurpose
REpurpose is a small social impact project that I operate from my residential garage in downtown Dexter. We accept donations of pre-loved items from the community, organize them, and then invite everyone to shop the inventory in our garage for free. It’s been going strong for about four years and it seems to be incredibly helpful for our community. We often hear things like, “I’m a teacher and this garage helps be find supplies for my classroom,” or “My kids wouldn’t have had a Christmas if it wasn’t for this,” or “I’m able to find clothes for people experiencing homelessness.”
In one of the pictures you’ll see our porch- people can drop items off on our front porch the first seven days of each month. I’ve offered up my side of our two-car garage and have created a free store for the community. If anything is broken or can’t be reused, I work to properly recycle and minimize the items that are sent to the landfill.
