Coffee+Click Camera Club
The Coffee+Click Camera Club was first established in the UK and is one of many projects that is part of The Ageing Creatively program operated by the Corn Exchange. It's based in Newbury and supported by the Greenham Trust.
The project, as Giles Penfold, photographer and volunteer, described it, was about social connection. It just happened to use photography as the anchor or interest point. It is not about a traditional photo club. It is about providing an opportunity for people to meet - and they can talk about photos or photography - or other things.
The Awesome grant will help me to establish an equivalent club in Adelaide for people transitioning to retirement or who have retired. It was suggested to me that this could be a "men's shed for those interested in photographs or photography". It may also be appropriate to run it as a community shed open to all genders. I think the interest will emerge and help determine the best focus.
