Accessible Arts Workshops

I am an informal educator working to bring accessible arts workshops with a heavy focus on accessibility and sustainability to the San Antonio community. I currently offer various printmaking mediums, but am looking to expand to mosaics, soldering, jewelry-making, and more. I work mostly with local non-profits and small business and split profits with my host venues, and any money I walk away from ticket sales for these workshops with is directly reinvested for future workshops. Ideally, I would love to be able to work independently and offer no-cost or donation-based workshops in the future. My hope with these events is to enrich people's lives by not only offering them time to be creative, but also to showcase the beauty in the mundane of our world and help people think more creatively about how they can use what they have to create beauty in the world around them. I firmly believe good art takes into account its impact on the community and the planet, and when we incorporate upcycling into our art practices, we can make them more accessible for ourselves by reducing the barrier of cost, and we help the planet we live on by reducing waste and incorporating previously unused items like thrift store china, $2 organza, and picture frames.
