The Live Like Coco Bookmobile

I am working to transform the Live Like Coco Bookmobile in its current form into a fully functional and effective platform for community outreach. To do this, I will be making improvements to its usability by designing and building systems for book storage, accessibility, and distribution. I will be completing the process of labeling and categorizing the books that will stock the Bookmobile. I will also design and build a securement system to keep the books and their containers safely in place while the Bookmobile is traveling. I will also create a book return system that includes a drop-off container with a securement method for transport. To improve book distribution at community giving events, I will purchase a rolling conveyor system with an adjustable stand and design a securement solution for travel. Another addition will be the development of a book cart—a somewhat self-contained, mobile library with a 200+ book capacity and space for a checkout system. This cart will integrate with the Bookmobile, allowing for greater maneuverability in schools and other locations/situations where the entire vehicle cannot fit. I will also design a securement system for the cart during travel. Lastly, I will install a full whiteboard complement, complete with markers, erasers, and magnets, to improve organization and provide a space for announcements or posting other information.
