Last year our team put great effort into securing 400 Lobster traps in recognition of Gloucester’s 400th anniversary. While securing traps for building the tree has always been the biggest challenge every year we were able to utilize the special anniversary for Gloucester to make great strides in permanently securing enough traps to build the tree every year.

In partnership with Brooks Trap and Riverdale Mill we were able to secure a donation of 2/3 of the value of the traps. The remaining 1/3 we are responsible to cover through our own fundraising.

The grass roots effort by committed community volunteers to build the tree year after year is only outmatched my the hundreds of children who paint the buoys to decorate the tree each year. Art Haven continues to host buoy painting events year after year making the tree a community wide celebration for all ages.
